Claude Swanson Burke's Obituary
Claude Swanson “Swanie” Burke, age 64, of Culpeper, passed away Monday, January 17, 2022 at his home from complications of a chronic illness.
Swanie was born on December 8, 1957 in Manassas, VA, but has been a life long resident of Culpeper. He was married to Christina (Tina) Sewell Burke on February 14, 1983. He had a passion for working on small engines. Swanie loved bird watching and was an avid music lover.
Swanie is survived by his wife, Tina Burke, of Culpeper; a daughter, Elizabeth (Beth) Burke; his mother, Joyce Yancey, of Culpeper; a sister, Sheila Rinehart (Terry), of Toano, VA; two sisters-in-law, Naomi Sewell, of Lynchburg, VA and Patti Harris (Paul) of Glen Allen, VA; a brother-in-law, Lyndon Sewell (Sandy), of Rapidan, VA; and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Claude Lee Burke.
A visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at Culpeper Church of Christ, 1600 N Main St, Culpeper.
A memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Minister Mike Morgan officiating.
