Clarissa Lee Lawson's Obituary
Clarissa Lee Lawson, 80, of Culpeper, died Saturday, March 10, 2007 at Culpeper Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on April 16, 1926 in Culpeper, VA to the late Charlie Lee and Zula Mae Clore Lee.
Mrs. Lawson graduated in 1944 from West Orange High School in New Jersey. She later went to work for the Department of Labor for several years before returning to Culpeper. She took great pride in gardening her flowers and was an avid reader. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great –grandmother and will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her daughters, Margaret Yousuf and her husband, Mirza of Alexandria, Arnita Lawson Rector of Rixeyville and Sgt. 1st Class Doris P. Lawson of Savannah, GA, and a special grandson, Richard Lee Lawson and his wife, Wendy of Brandy Station.
Additional survivors include other grandchildren, Stephanie Lawson of Culpeper, Nesreen Yousuf, Nureen Yousuf, and Murriam Yousuf all of Alexandria, a great-granddaughter, Carlee L. Lawson of Brandy Station, three sister-in-laws, Helen J. Lee of Culpeper, Josephine Lawson of Rixeyville, and Mary Toliver of D.C., one brother-in-law, Ernest Lawson and his wife, Hilda of Rixeyville and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Armstead Lawson, two sisters, Dolly Lee and Mary Lee and two brothers, Russell B. Lee and Frank L. Lee.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 13, 2007 at 2 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA 22701 with Rev. Frank Elliott officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Interment will follow in Prospect Cemetery in Rixeyville.
