Clarence Mitchell's Obituary
Clarence Edward “DaddyPops” Mitchell Sr., 79, of Rappahannock Academy went to be with the Lord Wednesday, May 23, 2007.
He was an avid golfer and loved gardening. He was the greens keeper for many years at Four Winds Golf Course. He served in the military.
He is survived by Dorothy Burley “Dolly” Mitchell, his beloved wife of 59 years; his children, Jeanne Mitchell, Clarence “Butch” Mitchell Jr. and his wife, Sandy, Patty “Susie” Payne and her husband, Vernon, David “BigDaddy–Buss” Mitchell and Marshall “Mikey” Mitchell Sr. and his wife, Laurie; 10 grandchildren, Jenny, Becky, Cindy, Wendy, Justin, Natalie, Adrienne, Lindsey, Sara and Little Mikey; 17 great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Emily, Lauren, Ryan, Nathan, Brittni, Breanna, Thomas, Anthony, Alex, Lexi, Katie, Connie, Cash, Hannah, Emily and Elizabeth; three brothers, Howard Jr., Charlie and Tommie; three sisters, Lillian, Sadie and Linda; and many nieces and nephews.
He will be greatly missed by his wonderful circle of friends at Four Winds, where he lived his final years. He will especially be missed by his beloved dog, Pebbles.
He was the son of the late Howard and Elner Mitchell, and also was preceded in death by five brothers, Robert, Marshall, John, David and James; and a sister, Betty.
The family will receive friends Monday, May 28, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Found & Sons Funeral Chapels, Fredericksburg.
A funeral will be held Tuesday, May 29, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
