Clara Vergalene Newton's Obituary
Clara V. Newton, 96, of Stafford County, Virginia passed away on Saturday, February 14, 2026. The daughter of the late Harold and Fannie Waller, Clara was born October 29, 1929 in Fredericksburg.
She enjoyed bird watching, going to the beach and traveling with her friends.
Clara is survived by her three children, Janet Futrell (Bob), Frank Newton (Kim) and Mark Newton (Lynn); a brother, Mike Waller (Eunice); and she was a proud grandmother to six grandchildren, John Futrell, Jaimie Newton, Jarrod Newton, Roland Davis Newton, Shawn Newton and Maggie Depathy; along with six great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, Peggy Kendall, Charlotte Pitts, and Dick Waller; and her, grandson Joseph “Joey” Newton.
The family wishes to thank all of her caregivers at Woodmont Center for their care and commitment to her over the past six years.
A graveside service will be held at noon Monday, March 9, 2026 at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations in her memory to White Oak Fire Department.
