Hank Smith
I happened upon this as I was googling Mable Hart's name. I was a student at Mable Hart's dance studio in the late 1950s, taking tap with a teacher who I remember was named Mr. Dow. The accompanist for class was Ms Waters. We also tapped to records. I also took piano lessons with Ms Waters at Riverton. I was about 12 or 13 at the time, and not that great at the piano, and had to perform in one of her recitals in a church in Harlem. I remember being nervous and happy to not be watching me play...because I REALLY wasn't good! What kept me from feeling like a complete failure knowing that I was a pretty good tap dancer! Anyway, what a surprise to see this and find out she lived to be over 100. Love to her family. I have good memories of her.
Hank Smith (I tap dance a lot now!)
