Sending Condolences to the Hall family for your loss. R.I.P. Danny 🙏

RIP Danny🙏
My condolences to the family. Dan and I went to school together and were roommates in Florida.
I met Dan during our Junior year of High School when an Elementary School friend said that He and I had to meet because we had the same sense of humor. Our senior year held trips with friends and family to Ocean City. I recently shared a story with the family about our watching a beautiful sunset over the bay one evening. It was great until we realized that as we were looking west, we received quite a sunburn that taught us both the value of a good shady spot!
After High School, we had a few different jobs together as we worked to find our calling. We did learn that Carpentry and Roofing were two jobs that were NOT made for us!
I came to check out Florida at the beginning of 1990 and discovered Universal Studios Florida. They were about to open their new Florida Entertain Complex and were looking for team members. I told Dan about the facility, and he moved to Orland shortly thereafter. This transition was followed by years of fun as he worked jobs at Universal and Disney and enjoyed weekends at places like the Butler Chin of lakes and the East Coast beaches of Florida. Trips to the Daytona Beach area were frequent with a large group of friends.
Dan returned to Northern Virginia when a mutual friend of ours spoke of an opportunity to work for a computer distributor. This was the perfect opportunity for him to enter the field of IT.
Dan moved back to Florida briefly in the late 90s when he pursued a career in the culinary industry. It was great to have him share what he learned with friends and worked out well for me to taste the results!
I saw Dan a few times in 2003 when I returned to the D.C. area where he was living with family. This was a short visit as he was on his way out west to explore the West Coast of the country.
With the advent of social media, it was easier to stay connected across the country and we chatted through the pandemic when he returned to the Northern Virginia area.
Dan returned to Florida last summer and stayed close by in the Winter Garden area. It was good to reconnect with him as our conversations always bring up memories that one of us had forgotten and the laugher was hardy recalling our foolish days of youth. I was lucky to have these conversations and only wish we could have one or tow more with recent recollections but isn’t that always the case where we wish we could just have one more conversation?
I recall this with you all to share my recollections of a guy who lived life by creating his own path. His passion for coming home at the end of the day and immediately picking up his guitar was one to be admired. He was a musical virtuoso who could blend Metallica with the The Beatles without missing a beat. No matter if he was on the high road, the low road, or the road between, his goal was to enjoy the moment and he found himself content living life that way, for the moment.
My condolences to the family for a life taken too soon. I hope that this brief recollection may bring comfort knowing that the time I shared with Dan hold memories of a person who greeted everyone with a smile on his face and enjoyed his path he created.
