Christine Joan Newman's Obituary
Christine Joan Newman, 74, of Fredericksburg, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday January 10, 2019, reuniting with John Newman, her beloved husband.
Christine was lovingly known by different names. She was Joan and Jody to her friends and family, and “Jen-Jen” and Grandma to her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Joan was preceded in death by three siblings, Adrian “Bob”, Linda and Mary Sue, and a son-in-law, Bill Roe.
Joan is survived by her two daughters, Johnna Brady-Burnett (Jeff), and Cynthia Roe; eight grandchildren, Jenni, Chris, Tom, Anna, Josh, Buddy, Jon and Bryan; three great-grandchildren, Deven, Chloe, and Isabella; two dogs, Oliver and Madison, a brother, George, a sister, Sandra; and numerous nieces and nephews.
There will be a Celebration of Joan’s life on Saturday January 19, 2019, beginning at 1 pm at her daughter’s house. Family and friends are all welcome to attend.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her honor to the American Cancer Society, cancer.org/donate or Catholic Charities, catholiccharitiesusa.org.
