Christine S. Huntt's Obituary
Christine (Chris) S Huntt, 64, peacefully passed away on May 16, 2023, at her residence in Culpeper VA. She was born May 8, 1959, in Bremerton, Washington to Stella Smith and the late Theodore Smith.
She was a beloved wife to her husband of 40 years, Bill; mother to her children; Devin, Colin (daughter-in-law Jessica), Keeley (son-in-law Samed); Ginny to her grandchildren; Zennik and Brooklyn; and sibling, Bernadette; along with many other family members and adopted friends turned family.
Chris was a devoted para-educator and volunteer in the Culpeper County School System. She lit up every classroom with a smile and her infectious laugh. Her love for her students went beyond the classroom. She was always greeting current, or former students with a big hug and efforts to keep in touch. She was deservingly awarded the Emerald Hill School Employee of the Year and Classified County School Employee of the Year. Chris had many interests outside of her love for her students. She was a self-taught accomplished seamstress with an eye for detail. She helped professionally with costumes for the Orange School of Performing Arts, wedding dresses for much of the local community, and many more for all her family and friends. Her generosity and care were shown through her love for sewing. You could always find her in the sewing room with Christmas music playing no matter the time of year. Along with sewing, she had a passionate green thumb. She enjoyed being out in her yard gardening and going to greenhouses with friends. Her light and memory will never dim from this world. You can always find her in the sunset, in a bouquet of flowers, or at her favorite place, the beach.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, May 26, 2023, at 3 p.m. at Old House Vineyards,18351 Corkys Ln, Culpeper, VA.
