In June, 1941, he married Ardath Betting, whom he met at Wheaton College, and moved to Schenectady, NY to work for General Electric as an accountant. During Chet’s retirement years, he and Ardath traveled extensively, covering 49 states and 20 foreign countries. On those trips, he applied his photography hobby and accumulated more than 200,000 slides. He chose the most select of those slides and developed 36 slide shows arranged by topic and geographic location that he showed at many venues over the years.
