Charlotte Ann Pinder's Obituary
Charlotte Anne Pinder, 87, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 30, 2025 in Fredericksburg, Virginia.
Born on May 22, 1938, in York, Pennsylvania, Charlotte was the beloved only child of Hester R. and Enos F. Barnett. She spent her childhood in Baltimore, Maryland, where she made lifelong memories and developed her love of family and home.
Throughout her life, Charlotte held a variety of jobs, but the role she cherished most was that of a devoted mother to her seven children. As a proud Marine Corps wife, she embraced the adventure of military life—welcoming her children across the country before settling in Virginia, where she raised her family with love and resilience.
Charlotte is survived by her children, Gregory Oakes (former spouse Mary), Stephanie Wyne (Mike), Carol Schembari (John), Linda Johnson (James), Chris Pinder (Nina), and Annisa Staats (Kevin), from her marriages to the late Louis Oakes and William Pinder. She also leaves behind 16 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren who will forever cherish her warmth, wisdom, and unwavering love.
She was preceded in death by son, Matthew F. Oakes; and grandson, Stephen E. Girouard, Jr.
Charlotte will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her deep love of family, and her ability to make every house feel like a home.
