Charlie "Jake" Tharp's Obituary
Charlie J. “Jake” Tharp of Orange, formerly of Culpeper died on Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at the University of Virginia Medical Center. He was born December 21, 1933 in Rappahannock County, son of the late Elijah M. Tharp and Alice M. Smith Tharp.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Barbara S. Tharp, his daughter, Christal Neeley and her husband, Mike of Madison, his sons, Freddie Tharp and his wife, Sherri, and Jeffrey Tharp and his wife, Lisa, both of Culpeper, eight grandchildren, Dustin Tharp and his wife, Andrea of Brandy, VA, Brittani Tharp, Torri Tharp, Jacob Tharp, Chance Neeley, Garrett Tharp, Lexxi Tharp, Karynne Tharp of Culpeper and one great granddaughter, Lea Tharp.
Additional survivors include his brother, Tom Tharp, Harvey Tharp, William Tharp and Jamie Tharp, and sisters, Rosie Wharton, Mary Tharp, Gladys Williams and Frances Horner.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, John Tharp and his granddaughter, Brandi Tharp.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 25, 2012 from 2-5pm at Found and Sons Funeral Chapels, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper.
A funeral service will be held at 11am on Monday, March 26, 2012 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapels Culpeper with the Rev. Sandy L. Martin officiating.
Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memory Gardens.
