Charlie Brown Hitt
Charlie Brown Hitt, 66, of Culpeper died Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at Fauquier Hospital. He was born June 8, 1943 in Culpeper to the late Rice Hitt, Jr. and Madeline Taylor Fogarty.
Mr. Hitt was a member of the NRA and enjoyed horseshoes and hunting.
He is survived by four children, Doug Hitt and his wife, Penny, Thomas Wooten and his wife, Tara, Sharon Clatterbuck and her husband, Steven and Michael Hitt and his wife, Becca, and one brother, Jimmy Hitt.
Additional survivors include six grandchildren, Bryant, Sammy, Dawn, Sidney, Rebecca and Conner, one great grandchild, Brayden, and a large extended family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Anne Hitt and one son, Charlie Brown “Chip” Hitt, Jr.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 28, 2010 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 29, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel with Rev. Barbara Jamieson officiating.
Interment will be held at Woodland United Methodist Church Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the American Cancer Society, 2654 Valley Ave., Suite B, Winchester, VA 22601.
