Charles "Bill" Irvin Baker's Obituary
Charles “Bill” Irvin Baker, 69, of Culpeper, died peacefully at his home Thursday, April 4, 2013. He was born on September 19, 1943 in Rappahannock County to the late Henry Irving and Virginia Knott Baker.
“Bill” as he was commonly known, never seemed to have met a stranger, he would enjoy sparking up a conversation with just about any random person and would walk away with a new friend as did the person whom he had just met. Bill greatly enjoyed spending time watching and tending to cattle or just working with his hands either fixing something or creating something new for someone else to use and cherish. He truly enjoyed being visited by his friends and family, he held these times close to his heart.
Bill is survived by one son, James William Baker and one granddaughter Tatiana Nicole Baker.
Also surviving are his five brothers; James Henry Baker, Robert Carroll Baker, Wilbert Junior Baker, David Harold Baker, and Phillip Wayne Baker and his one sister, Nina Baker Peyton. Not to mention numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and a host of close friends and loved ones.
In addition to his parents Bill was preceded in death by his wife Judith Kay Baker and his siblings; John W. Baker, Mary Ann Baker Anderson, Edward Lee Baker and George Nelson Baker.
A funeral service will be held at 2pm on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapels, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper with Pastor Sanford Martin officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memory Gardens in Jeffersonton.
The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service.
Pallbearers named are; Kendal Peyton, Charlie Lacy, Richard Lee, Speedy Green, Phil Ferguson, David Dix, Doug Corbin and Robin “Bubba” Short.
