Charles Bailey Dodson's Obituary
Charles Bailey Dodson, 84, of Sperryville, died Wednesday, May 2, 2007 at Our Fathers House Christian Home. He was born November 14, 1922 to the late William Arnold Dodson and Monia Olivia Berry Dodson.
Mr. Dodson was a member of Reynolds Memorial Baptist Church in Sperryville. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served in World War II under Gen. George Patton. He retired from Avtex after thirty five years of working as a machinist. He enjoyed watching Baseball and Football but above all spending time with his family.
He is survived by two children, Janice Carwile and her husband, Wayne of Culpeper, and C.E. Dodson and his wife, Linda of Sperryville, six grandchildren, Donna Foster, Christopher and Lindsay Carwile, Jennifer Atkins, Daniel Dodson, and Janet McKinney, four great grandchildren, Lauren Barron, Jordan, and Ryan Atkins, and Morgan McKinney, and one great great grandchild, Beth Barron.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of sixty five years, Cleo Clater Dodson who passed away May 25, 2006, three brothers, Archie, Jim and Wilson Dodson, and two sisters, Viola Brown and Mary Bowling.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 5, 2007 at 11 a.m. at Reynolds Memorial Baptist Church, 3948 Sperryville Pike, Sperryville, VA 22740. Rev. Jon Heddleston will be officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
Interment will follow in Sperryville Cemetery.
