Charles Yeh's Obituary
Charles Yeh, 66, of Leesburg, passed away on April 18, 2024. Born in Taiwan, Charles immigrated to the United States at the age of 13 and proudly became a naturalized citizen and homeowner. Throughout his life, he remained a steadfast Christian, finding strength and solace in his faith.
As an award-winning senior software engineer, Charles made significant contributions to various projects across the private sector, government, defense, and military. Educated in computer science at Johns Hopkins University, Charles also held a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Artificial Intelligence from the City College of New York. He also earned a Bachelor of Arts in Physics with a minor in economics from New York University. His career spanned roles with the United States government, including the United States Navy's Naval Surface Warfare Center. In addition to his national security contributions to the federal government, Charles contributed to our national security with leading defense contractors including General Dynamics, Raytheon, and TRW, where he demonstrated his expertise in developing and implementing complex software solutions. Charles later founded his own company, where he consulted for private sector companies and developed iOS and Android apps, including a free DC Speed Camera Alert app.
Charles was not only known for his professional accomplishments but also for his passions outside of work. He was a cherished member of the BMW Car Club of America, where he shared his love for automobiles, having owned eight BMW vehicles over his lifetime. Additionally, he had a deep affection for dogs, finding joy in their companionship.
Survived by his brother, Chance Yeh, Charles was predeceased by his parents and another brother, Christopher Yeh.
Charles was very generous in life and in death by volunteering, helping the less fortunate, and donating his body to science. In honor of his memory, the family kindly requests donations to the Life Legal Defense Foundation, a pro bono law firm dedicated to defending vulnerable human life, including civil and criminal cases involving the denial of life-sustaining care. Donations to this 501(c)(3) organization are tax-deductible and support their mission of upholding the sanctity of life.
