Charles Henry Small Jr.'s Obituary
Charles Henry Small Jr., 81 of Beverly Hills, Florida went home to be with the Lord on Monday, August 24, 2015. He was under the care of Hospice of Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg, Virginia.
He was born on July 18, 1934 to his late parents, Charles and Margaret in Long Island City, N.Y. He lived and worked in Port Jefferson, N.Y. for more than 30 years as a general contractor. His greatest joy was playing music and he awoke each day with song in his heart. He began playing the organ at the age of 8 and shared his love of music with others playing at various churches throughout his life; as well as into his retirement. He would drive his jeep with his own piano up front to play gospel music at nursing facilities in Beverly Hills. He also enjoyed photography, astronomy, trains, coin collecting, butterfly and bird watching which he shared with his late wife, Christine.
Charles is also preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth; sister-in-law, Patricia; and brothers-in-law, Frank and Jack. He is survived by his children, Terri Willis (Tom), Lee Small (Sharon), Thomas, Robert and Michael (Theresa) Ringrose; ten grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren. Other survivors include, brothers, Robert (Betty) and Henry (Nancy) Small; and sister, Margaret Delvecchio.
A memorial service of remembrance is scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, September 26, 2015, at Beverly Hills Community Church, 82 Civic Circle, Beverly Hills, Fla. Light refreshments will be served following the service to join the family in remembering Charlie.
