Charles Ashby Sisk's Obituary
Charles Ashby Sisk, 81, of Sperryville died Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at his residence. He was born March 26, 1930 in West Chester, PA to the late Albert Jackson and Bessie Young Sisk.
Mr. Sisk worked as an engineer for Avtex Fibers and after 36 years retired to his farm which was his lifelong pleasure and drive, second to his children and the family they provided for him.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Lorraine Marie Richards Sisk, three children, Charla Cordle and her husband, David of Charles City, VA, Charles Albert Sisk and his wife, Barbara of Sperryville, and James Sisk of Butler, PA, two grandchildren, Devon Hahn and her husband, Daniel, and Daniella Howard, one sister, Dorothy Pullen, one brother, William E. Sisk, and three great grandchildren.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Mr. Sisk’s very caring and helpful sisters-in-law, Betty Sisk and Carolyn Sisk.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five siblings, Esther Jenkins, A.J. Sisk, Jr., James Russell Sisk, Mary Edna Woodward and Lewis Woodard.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 31, 2011 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 1, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Reynolds Memorial Baptist Church, 3948 Sperryville Pike, Sperryville, VA with Rev. John Burke officiating.
Interment will follow in Sperryville Cemetery with Pastor Sara Porter Keeling officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Sperryville Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 233, Sperryville VA 22740 and/or Sperryville United Methodist Church, 3731 Sperryville Pike, Sperryville, VA 22740.
