Charles "Jack" Samuels' Obituary
Charles H. Samuels, also known as Jack to his family and friends, passed away Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at Mary Washington Hospital.
He was born January 20, 1940 to the late, Kermit and Gertrude Samuels.
Jack was a veteran of the US Army. He loved hunting, fishing, and all sports especially football. He particularly liked watching the Washington Redskins play. He enjoyed raising a garden, canning and freezing his vegetables.
Jack if survived by a son, Kyle DeGraef; stepson, Jason DeGraef (Brianna); sisters, Kaye Ervin (Wayne), and Cindy Cook (Robert); several step-grandchildren, nephews, great nieces, cousins, and other extended family who loved him and will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his longtime girlfriend, Cecilia DeGraef; in addition to his parents.
Jack’s family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday, December 9, 2018 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 10, 2018 in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, Jack’s family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 5216, Glen Allen, VA 23058-5216.
