Charles Hurst, Jr.'s Obituary
Charles William Hurst, Jr., 82 of Spotsylvania, died Wednesday, August 23, 2006 at McGuire Veterans Hospital.
Born to the late Charles and May Hurst of Reading Pennsylvania, Charles attended Shillington High School. He served in the US Army during WWII and was awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star for his actions. He also served during the Korean Conflict. Charles later worked for Atlantic Research in Alexandria, for many years until retiring in 1988.
He is survived by his daughters; Diana Rucker of Spotsylvania, Barbara A. Garnett of Annandale; a sister, Margie Wolicki of Reading, Pa.; two grandchildren, Sandra Rucker and Robert C. Rucker both of Spotsylvania; one great-granddaughter, Emily Lawler of Spotsylvania and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 7:00pm to 9:00pm Friday, August 25, 2006 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapels - Cremation Service, corner of Courthouse Road and Southpoint Pkwy. Inurnment will be private at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in his name to the Disabled American Veterans, General Washington Chapter 7, P.O. Box 1207, Fredericksburg, VA 22402.
