Charles Edward Hoffman, Sr.'s Obituary
Charles Edward Hoffman, Sr., 89, of Rapidan, died on Sunday, February 9, 2025, at Novant Health UVA Culpeper Hospital. He was born July 8, 1935, in Culpeper to the late Paul and Martha Hoffman.
Charles was a member of Mountain View Community Church and First Century Baptist Church. He was an avid Fisherman and enjoyed collecting coins and frog memorabilia, playing Bingo, listening to music, and watching old Westerns and WWE Wrestling. He retired as a state inspector after 23 years and ran a wrecker in the evenings at Scottie’s Texaco in Manassas.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Catherine Marie Hoffman; his children, Annie D. Jenkins (Kenny), Martha Lee Breeding (Michael), Charles E. Hoffman, Jr., and Paul D. Hoffman (Aimee); thirteen grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one great, great-grandchild; and one brother, Richard Kyle Hoffman (JoAnn).
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by four siblings, Barbara Jean Matthews (Gary), Peggy Harrison (Bill), Ann Hitt (Tommy), and Wilson Franklin Hoffman; and one cousin who was like a sister, Bernice Ellswick (Donald).
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 16, 2025, at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, February 17, 2025, at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel with Pastors Mark Jenkins and Wayne Woodard officiating.
