Charles Edward Hitt 's Obituary
Charles Edward Hitt, 96, of Culpeper passed away Sunday, July 7, 2019 at Dutch Haven Assisted Living. He was born September 23, 1922 in Culpeper County to the late Thomas and Mary Woodard Hitt.
Charles was a lifelong member of Alum Springs Baptist Church and a member of the Senior Citizen Center in Culpeper. He worked for Rochester Rope Corporation over 45 years.
Charles is survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of over 50 years, Elizabeth Jane Hensley Hitt; sister, Mary Hitt Hensley Ashby; and brother, James Hitt.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 11, 2019 at 2 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA, with Rev. John Miller officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Culpeper, VA
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, www.alz.org .
