Charles J. Henderson's Obituary
A loving husband, father, brother, uncle and friend, Charles Henderson of Boston, VA died at his home January 5, 2015 after his courageous battle with prostate cancer at the age of 73. Chuck was born April 28, 1941 in Garfield, NJ to the late Charles and Ann Henderson.
He was the oldest of three children and grew up in Bergen County, NJ. He graduated from Don Bosco Prep in Ramsey, NJ and later obtained his Bachelor of Science degree from Upsala College. He dedicated 30 years of his professional career to working in the insurance industry in the IT area helping to architect a claims system that was sold to numerous other insurance companies. He retired from his professional career at the age of 52 as Assistant Vice President to pursue his goal of building the family retirement home on their property in Boston, VA. He was a true renaissance man and master craftsman and enjoyed many hobbies which included hunting, fishing, traveling, investing and reading as well as engaging conversations with his Culpeper coffee club boys.
He is survived by his loving wife, Denise; his son, Erik; and his sister, Ann Lynn.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Richard.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at 12 pm at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
