Charles Arthur Dempsey's Obituary
Charles A. Dempsey, 83, of Boston, VA, beloved husband and father went home to be with the Lord on July 10, 2010 at Prince William Hospital, Manassas, VA. He was born on August 27, 1926 in Springville, PA to the late Rev. Charles and Helen Dempsey.
Mr. Dempsey graduated from Guilford High School in 1944. He served two years in the Asiatic Pacific Theater and was honorably discharge from the US Navy (Seabees) on June 12, 1946. He was a deacon and member of the finance committee at Mount Lebanon Baptist Church. He loved spending time with his beloved cats, Max and Katie.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Jean Dempsey and his three sons, John and his wife, Apiranee, Robert and his wife, Deborah, and Richard and his wife, Lynn.
Additional survivors include his grandchildren, Jason Dempsey and his wife, Ann, Helene Norris and her husband, Steve, Shannon Dempsey, Natalie Dempsey, and Lisa, Jori, Amanda and Jon Szott, two great grandchildren, Eva and Elsie Dempsey and four brothers, Paul and his wife, Florence, Howard, David and his wife, Kathryn, and Richard and his wife, Clarissa.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA 22701.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 15, 2010 at 10 a.m. at Mount Lebanon Baptist Church, 19 Scrabble Rd, Scrabble, VA with Pastor Dallas Smith officiating.
Interment will follow in Stonewall Memory Gardens, Manassas, VA at 2 p.m.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Mount Lebanon Baptist Church Building Fund.
