Charlene Hope Underbakke's Obituary
Charlene H. Underbakke, 84, formerly of Canton, Minnesota, Fillmore County, passed away Thursday, October 29, 2015 at Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center in Virginia with her son Todd by her bedside.
Charlene was born in Canton to the late Ralph and Clara Thompson on November 10, 1930. She grew up in the Canton area where she graduated from Canton High School in May 1947. Charlene was a member of the Henrytown Lutheran Church.
She married Donald Underbakke and; she, her son, Todd and Donnie moved to Manassas, Virginia in 1968.
Charlene and Donnie moved back to Canton when Donnie retired from the military. She remained in Canton until March 2010 when she moved back to Spotsylvania, Virginia to live with her son, Todd.
Charlene was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donnie; her brothers-in-law; two sisters-in-law; and many special friends.
She is survived by her son, Todd Pierce of Spotsylvania, VA; sisters, Marilyn Handberg of Bloomington, MN, Ramona Hudson of Canton, Donnis Forkum of Norman, OK, and Joanne Caldwell of Blaine, MN; brother, Jerry Thompson (Betty) of Coeur d’Alene, ID; sister-in-law, Joyce Duncan of Rochester, MN; brother-in-law, Willard Patchin of Canton; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in Canton, MN.
She had many friends in Virginia and Minnesota. She will be missed and in our hearts forever.
