Celeste Yelken's Obituary
Celeste Yelken, 94, of Culpeper died Sunday, December 9, 2018 at Grace Health and Rehab in Stanardsville, VA. She was born in Amissville, VA on October 25, 1924 to the late Ora Freeman Rollins and Warren Allen Rollins.
She is a former member of Culpeper Baptist Church. Celeste enjoyed to sing and sang in the choir at Culpeper Baptist Church in addition to teaching Sunday school. She also enjoyed traveling with her family. Celeste started her teaching career in Lignum, continued at Sycamore Park, and retired in Fairfax, VA.
Celeste is survived by her husband, Paul Thomas Yelken of 56 years; children, Matthew Capano of Massachusetts and Michael T. Yelken of Culpeper, VA; her brother, Warren Rollins of Culpeper, VA; her grandchildren, Nicole Williams and her husband Ben of Culpeper, VA, and Michael T. Yelken II of Haywood, VA; and great grandchildren, Natalie Williams, Beau Williams, and Weston Williams.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband Matthew Capano; her son, Marvin “Allen” Capano; and daughter in-law, Margaret W. Yelken.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 14, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA with Rev. Dan Carlton officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Interment will follow at Culpeper National Cemetery.
