Catherine Louise White Acey's Obituary
Catherine Louise White Acey, 79, of Culpeper, died Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at Novant Health UVA Health System Culpeper Medical Center. She was born at her family home, the youngest of 11 children, on April 2, 1937 in King George County, VA to the late Henry Irving and Margaret Ann Hall White.
Catherine was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in King George, VA and enjoyed walking to church with her mom and siblings for the revivals when the services were held in August for the entire week. Most of the time, someone would pick the family up and carry them to the church. She loved doing the same when her dad’s church, Grace Methodist in Rollins Fork had their revivals.
Catherine was a 1955 graduate of King George High School and met again for the first time after 35 years, her present husband, Richard A. Acey. Both of them had gone to the same school, but had never dated each other or barely knew each other. They just remembered that they had been in the same graduating class. They married on December 7, 1990. She gave up her life as she knew it in Virginia and moved to Santa Barbara, CA with Richard and there they lived until 1993. Richard had promised Catherine that when he retired he would bring her back to her home state of Virginia. He held true to his promise and they moved to Culpeper in April of 1993.
Catherine is survived by her husband, Richard A. Acey; one son, Tracy Lane Hall, Sr. of King George, VA; one daughter, Jacquelyn Dawn Hall of Montross, VA; five grandchildren, Tracy, Jr., Cagney, Aaron, Katelyn and Lauren; and six great grandchildren.
Other survivors include three stepdaughters; five step grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Catherine was preceded in death by her daughter and first born, Constance Louise Hall; one great grandson, Marley of King George, VA; seven brothers; three sisters; and her former husband, Ralph V. Hall.
Services will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the perpetual care of Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery, 13457 Kings Highway, King George, VA 22485.
Found and Sons Funeral Chapel of Culpeper is serving the family.
