Catherine Margaret Hawkins' Obituary
Catherine Margaret Hawkins, 87, a life-long resident of Culpeper, VA, went home to be with the Lord on January 28, 2021. She was born in Woodville, VA on October 30, 1933. Catherine was the daughter of the late Herbert L. Jenkins and Vergie E. Jenkins. She was married for 32 years to the late Charles W. Hawkins.
Catherine is survived by her daughter, Wendy W. Williams, and her husband Robert L. Williams, Jr.; grandson, Justin N. Maymi; granddaughter, Robin L. Williams; five great-grandchildren, one sister, Pauline E. Husted of Fredericksburg, VA; and one brother, Herbert L. Jenkins, Jr. of Locust Grove, VA ; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
Catherine worked at Arrington Cleaners in Culpeper County for fourteen years. She was known as “The Redskin Lady” by many in Culpeper. She was a die-hard fan. But she lost interest in them later!
Catherine had a love for people. She also had a love for Jesus Christ! She was a member of Providence Bible Church, where she attended for many years. She soon fell in love with many of the members there! She enjoyed fellowship with God’s people. She loved singing the old hymns, and she also loved gardening and her flowers. Catherine was loved by many, and she will be missed by many! She is Home finally! Hallelujah!
A visitation will be held on Friday, February 5, 2021 from 10am to 11am at Providence Bible Church.
A celebration of life will be held Friday, February 5, 2021 at 11:00 am at Providence Bible Church 17211 Greens Corner Rd, Culpeper, VA with Pastor Jarred Edgecombe officiating. If you cannot attend in person, you can view via livestream available at https://youtu.be/oKjtvts6964
Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Culpeper.
Masks are required for all services.
Pallbearers will be Robert Williams, Matthew Jenkins, Paul Jenkins, Justin Maymi, James Johnson and Jerry O’Brien.
