Carroll Humphries Brown's Obituary
Carroll Humphries Brown, 80, of Gaithersburg, MD died Monday, October 1, 2007 at Shady Grove Hospital in Rockville, MD. He was born February 17, 1927 in Culpeper, VA to the late John Henry and Jane Belle Brown.
Mr. Brown was born and raised in Culpeper until his job with Columbia Gas relocated him to Maryland. He served his country in the United States Navy during World War II and the Korean Conflict. Growing up he was a member of the American Legion and loved to listen and sing to country music. He was always a busy, hardworking man that loved his family dearly.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Virginia Ruth Brown, his son, Larry Brown and his fiancé, Vicki Brown of Rockville, MD, his siblings, Margaret Kilby of Orange, VA, Bea Gulas of Culpeper, VA, Mary Lee Southard of Culpeper, VA, Raymond “Fuzz” Brown of Culpeper, VA , and Virginia “Ginny” Kincer of Culpeper, VA.
Additional survivors include his grandchildren, Jennifer Beles, Jeff Beles, Joe Hindman, Brian Brown, and three great grandchildren, Alexis, Jacob and Julia Brown.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Marsha Lynn Beles, four brothers, John Brown, Ben Brown, Otis Marshall Brown, and Bill Brown, one sister, Lula Wood, two half brothers, Netus and Edward, and two half sisters, Frances and Marie.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 4, 2007 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA 22701.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 5, 2007 at 11 a.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel.
Interment will follow in Culpeper National Cemetery with military honors provided by the Culpeper American Legion Post # 330 and V.F.W. Post # 2524.
Pallbearers will be Gary Menso, John Beles, Brian Brown, Jeff Beles, Mark Gulas, and Michael Kincer.
