Carol Anne Schafer's Obituary
With heavy hearts we share the news of the passing of our mother, Carol Schafer. After an extended hospital stay, Mom departed life on earth on June 3, 2024.
She loved all of her family and we all loved her very much. Those that knew her, knew of her feisty spirit and her tell-it-like-it-is attitude. She enjoyed being in the great outdoors, all things relating to the beach, flamingos, and anything pink. She was always up for an adventure. Her love and stamina for shopping was unprecedented.
Carol loved spending time with her recently departed sister, Janet. They were inseparable. Their days together were spent shopping and going out to eat, and hanging out with family. She truly missed her sister during her last weeks on Earth.
Carol is survived by her daughters, Valerie Bowling-Herrera, Norma Wilcox, Cynthia Quesenberry (Darrell Quesenberry), and Rebecca Karalus (Randall Karalus); son, Jonathan Roark (Marie Roark); sister, Nancy Arrington; brother, Ralph Clinedinst, Jr.; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Annie Clinedinst; sisters, Janet Cornell and Gail Petty; brother, Gary Clinedinst; and daughter, Michelle Wilhelm.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 7, 2024 at Mount Comfort Cemetery, 6600 South Kings Highway, Alexandria, VA.
