Carol Ann Jacobsen's Obituary
This is to announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and friend to many, Carolyn (Carol) Ann Jacobsen, 76 passed away at her home in Stafford VA, on Saturday, February 24, 2024, where she was surrounded by love from her family.
She was able to hear loving affirmations from her sons, daughter, and pastor via telephone conversations, after which, she gently and ever so peacefully, slipped from our world onto the path that led her to heaven, and the arms of our Lord.
Mom was born March 10, 1947, in Rockingham, NC to her parents, Maggie Walters Scott, and Melvin Scott.
Mom had one sister and three brothers, she will be reunited with three of her siblings, and one brother remains with us.
Mom had five children, who would give her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mom leaves behind two daughters, Princess Goodman (Terry Goodman), (two granddaughters and one great-granddaughter)of Stafford, VA, daughter, Tina Collins (Jimmy Collins), of Cleveland TN, and three sons: Frankie L Smothers-Jacobsen, (two granddaughters, three grandsons, and one great-grandson), of Anniston AL, Shannon W. Smothers(one grandson, two granddaughters, and four great-grandchildren), of Anniston, AL, and Joseph H. Smothers (one granddaughter), of Douglasville, GA.
We, her family can take solitude in knowing that Mom has entered into heaven where she will now live with eternal happiness, joyfulness, and standing in the glorious light of love and warmth.
She will spend all her days being reunited with her husband of forty years, Ronald K. Jacobsen, her parents, her siblings, and many, many friends that have gone ahead of her, surrounded by love in both worlds.
Having all her burdens, pain, and sufferings laid down, she is in a place of extreme beauty, and love with no more tears to be shed.
Our Mother was a true warrior. When cancer came three times for her, she battled hard and survived each battle. She never gave up. Her battle with cancer would last more than two decades, she persevered through all that came to her.
Her service to others and strength was remarkable, and a lesson to all who knew her to just keep fighting.
Her legacy in both life and death is strong.
Her loves in life were music, dance, things of beauty, the ocean, her home, her children, and her grandchildren.
Those of us who are left behind will miss her dearly. As they say, the greater the love, the greater the grief, the way it should be.
Her family will continue moving forward as that is what is required of each of us. We will think of her often, and knowing that her new residence will provide us with hope that one day we shall all be together again.
For our warrior, our mother, our grandmother, and our friend - you will be missed forever more.
