Carl-Lee Allan Mertz's Obituary
Carl-Lee Allan Mertz, 37, of Rixeyville, VA died Thursday, April 15, 2021 at his home. He was born August 10, 1983 in Maryland to the late Cyrus Boley and Mary Mertz.
Carl was a graduate of Culpeper County High School and a long-term employee of Continental Teves. He was a sneaker head. He loved his Raven’s football team, and he loved his shoes. Carl was a loving and caring father to his children, and his fiancé’s children.
Carl is survived by his children, Mikayla Nicole Mertz and Mariah Renee Mertz, his uncle, William Hitt (Dolores), cousins, Billy Hitt (Pam), Jessica Howard (Dave), Kaitlyn Hitt, and Brittney Hitt. He is also survived by his special friend and fiancé of four years, Jennifer K. Cassell.
In addition to his parents, Carl is preceded in death by his grandmother, Mary Jane “MawMaw” Dodson.
A graveside service will be held Friday, April 23, 2021 at 12 pm at Fairview Cemetery, 822 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA with Pastor Ron Young officiating.
