Carey "Pete" Meade Brown Jr.'s Obituary
Carey “Pete” Meade Brown, Jr., 80, of Brandy Station, VA passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at Gainesville Heath and Rehab. He was born June 22, 1941 in Rixeyville, VA to the late Carey Meade Brown, Sr. and Anna Elizabeth Brown.
Pete was a member of Alum Springs Baptist Church. He loved to hunt and care for animals. Pete was known for playing the Dobro and had a great passion for Blue Grass music. He enjoyed camping at Graves Mountain Lodge. He was an amazing father, husband, grandfather, and great grandfather and loved his family dearly. Pete was a kid at heart and made friends everywhere he went. He was great at everything he did, from coon hunting to working on cars to gunsmithing.
Pete is survived by his daughter, Deborah Brown; son, Carey “Billy” Brown, III; mother of his children, Patsy Brown; siblings, Katherine “Kitty” Utz and Russel Kyle Brown (Donna); sister in law, Judy E. Brown; grandchildren, Bobbi J. Brown and Danielle Maxwell; great grandchildren, Hunter, River, Marlee, Bradyn, Aiden, Liam, and one on the way; and numerous nieces and nephews and friends.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Donna Rae Brown-Maxwell (Randolph); son Robert “Bob” Wade Brown; and brother, Roger Lee Brown.
A funeral service will be held Monday, May 9, 2022 at 3 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA 22701 with Pastor C. Perry Utz officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service. Interment will be private at the Brown Family Cemetery.
