Caren Lynne Meyer's Obituary
Caren Lynne Meyer passed away on Saturday, May 26th surrounded by family and friends after a valiant struggle with pulmonary complications following open heart surgery.
Born on New Year's Day in 1944 to Fran and Ray Overton, she grew up with her sisters, Jan McLaughlin and Barb Overton, and her brother, Ray, in Manchester, Ct.
She married Curt Meyer her husband of 42 years in 1970. After living many places across the country, they settled in Virginia where they had two daughters, Sharon and Michelle Meyer.
Caren made lifelong friends in Orange and later in Spotsylvania where she was a vital part of the community.
For more than 15 years, she worked as the office manager at Friends of the Rappahannock. She continued to express her love for nature by volunteering for FOR, Master Gardeners, Germanna Volkssport walking club, and many causes such as Earth Day up until the day she was hospitalized.
Caren so loved to garden, travel the country and the world with her family, walking in the woods, and just spending time with friends and family. She amazed every one she met with her sense of humor, gentle nature, and her compassion.
She was preceded in death by her father. She continues on in the hearts of her mother, husband, daughters, brother, sisters, grandson, Robert Hall, granddaughter, Shyanna Page, many nieces, nephews, her beloved dog, Coco, and countless friends.
