C. Russell Leitch's Obituary
C. Russell Leitch, 93, of Fredericksburg passed away Friday, May 27, 2011 at Mary Washington Hospital.
A 1935 graduate of Fredericksburg High School, he was a long time local businessman serving as a partner and president for Service Transport, Inc. He served in the US Navy and was a member of the VFW, First Christian Church and the Coast Guard Auxiliary.
Russell is survived by his wife of 68 years, Esther Leitch; a son, Carey C. Leitch and his wife, Patti of Fredericksburg; two daughters, Cheryl V. Leitch of Charlottesville and Gail S. Leitch of Fredericksburg and three grandchildren, Kristen, Cydney and Emilio Leitch, all of Fredericksburg.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Maggie and Carey P. Leitch; his brother, Wilson and his sister, Frances.
Russell’s family will receive friends Thursday, June 2, 2011 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Found and Sons Funeral Chapels-Cremation Service, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg. A funeral service will be held Friday, June 3, 2011 at 11:00 am at the funeral chapel with the Rev. Joe Reed officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
