Bryant Lee Hicks Sr.'s Obituary
Bryant Lee Hicks, Sr. died Friday, January 17, 2014 at McGuire VA Medical Center in Richmond. Mr. Hicks was born October 12, 1919 in Madison County to the late Aubrey G. and Otie Davis Hicks. He was a veteran of The United States Army and served honorably in WWII. Mr. Hicks took part in the Campaign of Ardennes, the Campaign of Rhineland and the Campaign of Central Europe during which he was wounded and received the Purple Heart for valor and bravery. Bryant was also a self-employed carpenter.
Mr. Hicks is survived by four children, Bryant Lee Hicks, Jr., Linda Sue Hicks, Ronnie Wayne Hicks, and his wife, Ethel and Douglas Alan Hicks. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
Besides his parents, Bryant was preceded in death by two children, Robert Lawrence Hicks and David Wesley Hicks and his only sister, Gladys Hicks.
GRAVESIDE SERVICES FOR MR. HICKS WILL BE POSTPONED UNTIL FRIDAY, JANUARY 24, 2014 AT 11 AM AT CULPEPER NATIONAL CEMETERY (NEW) with Pastor Johnny Hawkins officiating.
Military honors will be provided by VFW Post 2524.
