Brooksie Barton Seamon's Obituary
Brooksie Barton Seamon, 71, of Locust Grove, passed away Thursday, March 28, 2024 at Novant Health Systems UVA Culpeper Hospital. She was born May 3, 1952 in Warrenton to Michael Garrett and the late Katherine Garrett.
Brooksie was a member of Zoar Baptist Church in Locust Grove. She enjoyed taking care of her family and friends. She loved eating crabs and cooking a good Southern meal for her family during the holidays. She also enjoyed spending time with her church family, as well as her dogs, Sugar and Spice, and horseback riding.
In addition to her father, she is survived by her partner, Mike Goroum; two children, Billy White and Sherri Anderson; four grandchildren, Victoria Allen (Chris), Karli Morgan (Alexis), Faith Mirai, and Savannah White; three great-grandchildren, Skylar, Bo and Lakelynn; and two brothers, Jimmy McGavran and Rodney McGavran.
She is preceded in death by her mother; one son, Michael Lee; one grandson, Troy Anderson; one sister, Barbara Perry; and one brother, Randy McGavran.
A funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 7, 2024 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA with Pastor Larry Haun officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service, from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
