Broadus "Bootie" Haught's Obituary
Broadus “Bootie” Glen Haught, 71, of Lovingston, died Sunday, April 6, 2014 at Martha Jefferson Hospital. He was born January 11, 1943 in Kermit, WV to the late Jake Clarence and Dorothy Justice Haught.
Bootie had been a resident of the Lovingston area for the past 30 years after moving from Culpeper. He was a member of Woodland Baptist Church and worked for Norfolk Southern Railway before his retirement. Bootie was an MVP softball player and participated in fast-pitch and slow-pitch softball leagues in Fauquier. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Haught; one son, Garrin Haught and his wife, Hope; one daughter, Tracy Haught; two grandchildren, Thomas and Robin; and three great grandchildren, Alyssa, Charitee and Aubree; two brothers, Tom and Jake Haught; two sisters, Sue Miller and Betsy Jenkins; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one grandson, Bradford Haught.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 11, at 3:00 PM at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service.
Interment will follow in Haught Family Cemetery.
