Billy Richard "Rick" Jenkins, Jr.'s Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family of Billy Richard Jenkins, Jr. (Rick), 71, of Rixeyville, VA share that he went to be with the Lord unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at Fauquier Hospital. He was born March 18, 1953, in Fauquier County, VA to the late Patricia Pearson Brooks and Billy Richard Jenkins, Sr.
Rick is loved and missed by his wife, Betsy, with whom he has shared an inseperable bond with for more than 52 years, along with their three daughters, Natisha Somerville (Sean), Laurie Pullen (Brian) and Angie Frazier (Wade); eight grandchildren, Brooklyn Scott, Taryn Pullen, Kaeli Sheads (Blake), Tyler Frazier, Braden Somerville, Camden Scott, Ty Pullen and Merci Pullen; nine siblings, Susie Wright (Jimmy), Emily Wilson, Paul Jenkins, Kenny Brooks, Mark Brooks (Noel), Bart Brooks (Kyra), Michael Brooks, Christy Hensley, Maryanne Tinder Osborne; his stepmom, Laura Hunsberger Hamilton; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Rick adored his family and they were his greatest joys in his life. He made sure everyone knew how much he loved them, related or not! He never met a stranger and loved when people would go places with him. If they let him know they couldn’t go due to a lack of money, he would always respond with “I got a dollar” and make it happen.
In addition to his parents, Rick is preceded in death by his stepdad, Samuel Brooks; three siblings, Alice Marks, Tony Brooks, and Jeff Jenkins.
Rick was proud to serve his country in the U.S. Army. He owned and operated his own business, Rick’s Home Improvements for almost 40 years. Rick gave his life to the Lord at the age of 27 and served Him faithfully in many ways as a youth leader, worship leader, deacon, usher, trustee and wherever the Lord called him. Rick exemplified 2 Corinthians 9:6-7 as a cheerful giver donating to Christian radio stations, church youth fundraisers, local Christian schools and boundless other organizations. Rick loved his church family at Encounter Church of God in Fredericksburg, VA.
Family and friends are invited to attend his memorial service which will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA with his Pastor Jeremy Hyde officiating.
