Betty Lou Johnson's Obituary
Betty Lou Johnson, 78, of Reva passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at her residence. She was born August 6, 1937 in North Wilkesboro, NC to the late John and Edna Watkins Bell.
Betty worked at Pediatric Associates of Manassas for 35 years. She was a longtime member of Victory Baptist Church and current member of Alum Springs Baptist Church. She loved to knit scarves for the homeless, was a wonderful painter and loved to cook holiday meals for the family. Betty loved the Washington Nationals and would keep score of every game. Her favorite player was Ryan Zimmerman. She deeply loved her family and her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
She is survived by her husband, Claude Thomas Johnson; six children, Duane Allen “Buddy” Young and his wife, Cheryl of Berkley Springs, WV, Donald Ray Young and his wife, Sherry of Front Royal, Yvette Renee Patton and her husband, Tim of Culpeper, Ronald Lee Young and his wife, Wendy of Culpeper, Richard Burke Young and his wife, Melanie of Nokesville and Susan Marie McKenzie of Culpeper; and five siblings, Billy Bell, Jerry Ray Bell, Gary Bell, Sue Soufley and Judy Dragoo.
Additional survivors include nine grandchildren, Don Young and his wife, Amanda, T.J. Patton and his wife, Joanne, Jason Patton of Culpeper, Sabrina Chellini and her husband, Matt, Thomas Dean Young of Culpeper, Micah Young of Culpeper, Richard Young of Nokesville, Nathan Young of Nokesville, Sara McKenzie of Culpeper and Sydney McKenzie of Culpeper.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Bonnie Ann Young; one son-in-law, Tim McKenzie; one brother, John Edward Bell and one sister, Shelby Creasman.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at 12:00 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper with her son Pastor Ron Young officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service.
Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
Her grandsons will be serving as pallbearers.
