Betty Jane Furr's Obituary
Betty Jane Furr, age 80, passed away on Friday, December 15, 2023 at VCU Hospital in Richmond, Virginia.
She was born on December 25, 1942 in Virginia to the late Hal and Laura (Dodson) Grimes.
Betty enjoyed spending time at home with her family. She loved going to church, listening to southern gospel music, and watching old movies.
She spent her life running a daycare in her home. She loved and cared for many children until she retired.
She was preceded in death her parents; brothers, Sam, Eden, and Delmore; and sisters, Mary (Mollie), Anna, and Dorothy.
Betty is survived by her children, Lorrie Furr, Daniel Furr (April), Robert Furr (Kim), and Kenneth Furr (Vicky); brother, Chauncey Grimes; three sisters, Ruby Myers, Laura Stewart and Linda Oatman; ten grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, December 22, 2023 at the Faith and Power Ministries Church of God and Prophecy, 21 Kingsland Drive, Stafford, VA 22556. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow at Midland Cemetery, 5525 Catlett Road, Midland, VA 22728.
