Betty Jane Bean's Obituary
Betty Jane Bean, 85, of Culpeper died Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at her residence. She was born June 10, 1929 in Sidney, NY to the late Howard and Kathryn Snyder Gelsleichter.
Mrs. Bean attended New Salem Baptist Church and was active in Girl Scouts, Tops/Kops and Silver Club for seniors.
She is survived by four children, Kathryn Pettie and her husband, Charles of Chester, VA, Susan Williams and her husband, William of Culpeper, Deborah Stokes and her husband, Shaun of Jamestown, NC and David Bean and his wife, Carol of Culpeper; and three siblings, Charles Gelsleichter and his wife, Karen of Cashtown, PA, Thelma Husband of Rockville, MD and Harold Gelsleichter and his wife, Juanita of Silver Springs, MD.
Additional survivors include seven grandchildren, Randy Pettie and his wife, Katie of Disputanta, VA, Joseph Williams of Culpeper, Steven Pettie of Richmond, Matthew Williams and his wife, Heather of Fredericksburg, William Lewis Williams of Mint Hill, NC, Michael Stokes of Huntersville, NC and Laura Jane Stokes of Greensboro, NC.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Lewis Bean, Jr. and one brother-in-law, Charles Husband.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, May 4, 2015 at 11 am at New Salem Baptist Church, 8233 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA with Rev. Sandy Martin and Rev. Mike Dodson officiating.
Interment will follow in Culpeper National Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Randy Pettie, Joseph Williams, William Lewis Williams, Steven Pettie, Matthew Williams and Michael Stokes.
Found and Sons Funeral Chapel of Culpeper is serving the family.
