Betsy Russell's Obituary
Betsy Russell, 73, of Manassas, formerly of Tannersville, NY, passed away on May 14, 2010.
She was born April 3, 1937, in New York City, and raised in Tannersville. Betsy attended nursing school at Hartwick College in Oneonta, NY, and received a Masters in Nursing and Education from NYU. She served as the school nurse at Hunter-Tannersville High School and was a member of MENSA. After retiring to Virginia, she and her therapy dog Pippin devoted many hours to volunteer work through Prince William Hospital.
She is survived by her brother James (Carolyn) Russell of Manassas, niece Kimberly Russell of New York City, nephew Douglas Russell of Massachusetts, and many dear friends.
Memorial services will be at 3:00 pm on Thursday, May 20, at The Fairmont, 9582 Fairmont Ave, Manassas, VA, where she was a resident. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the ASPCA or your local animal shelter.
