Bessie Marie Utz's Obituary
Bessie Marie Utz, 91, of Castleton, died on Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at Culpeper Regional Hospital. She was born on February 25, 1918 in Rappahannock County to the late Columbus and Bessie Gore.
Mrs. Utz was a member of Gourdvine Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing, working in her garden and canning. Above all she was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother who will truly be missed.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Thomas Menefee Utz, two sons, Floyd Menefee Utz and his wife, Barbara of Culpeper, and Thomas Wayne Utz and his wife, Lydia of Culpeper, four grandchildren, Melanie Phillips and her husband, Stephen, Melissa Carroll and her husband, Rod, Thomas Utz and Michael Utz, and two great-grandchildren, Jennifer and Emily Carroll.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by seven siblings.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 22, 2009 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA 22701.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 23, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel with Rev. Rick Love officiating.
Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Randy Gore, Steven Gore, Sam Compton, Frank Whorton, Buck Utz, Rod Carroll, Stephen Phillips, Tom Utz and Russell Partlow, III.
