Bessie Mae Simms' Obituary
Bessie Mae Simms, 85, of Stafford County, passed away at home on Thursday, July, 21, 2011.
Bessie enjoyed many activities in life, such as playing cards, crossword puzzles, and watching her game shows. She was a faithful member of New Light Cathedral in Dumfries, VA. Bessie traveled extensively in her life and has visited many places in Europe. She loved shopping trips to Wal-Mart and of course she could always be found with her jewelry and purses with her.
Bessie leaves behind three sons, Thomas of Alabama, Robert and his wife, Evelyn and Swanie and his wife, Sandra, all of Michigan: five daughters, Toni of California, Deborah and her husband, Michael of Michigan, Aria and her husband, Augustus and Barbara and her husband, Lonnie, all of Virginia, and Marchella of California; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren, as well numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband Otis; their son Allen, and a brother Wesley.
The family will be receiving friends on Thursday July 28, 2011 from 6:00-8:00pm at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg. Her homecoming service will be held in her honor at the funeral home on Friday, July 29, 2011 at 11:00 am with Bishop Mickie officiating. Interment will follow in Glen Haven Cemetery.
