Bertha Hettie Dodson Jenkins' Obituary
Bertha Hettie Dodson Jenkins, 89, of Culpeper, passed away on Sunday, April 5, 2026, at Culpeper Hospital. She was born March 10, 1937, to the late Roy Epp Dodson and Pearl Bertha Dodson in Woodville, VA.
Bertha found joy in life’s simple pleasures and the things she loved most. She enjoyed bowling and spending time with friends at the lanes, always bringing a smile and a lighthearted spirit. A talented seamstress, Bertha loved sewing all kinds of items, pouring her creativity and care into every piece she made. She was also an avid reader, rarely without a book in hand, finding comfort and adventure within its pages.
She especially loved taking adventures along Skyline Drive, enjoying peaceful rides along the winding roads. It was there, surrounded by the beauty of nature, that she found a deep sense of peace.
Above all else, Bertha’s greatest love was her family. She cherished every moment spent together, whether it was sharing stories, offering a listening ear, or simply being present. Her kindness, warmth, and giving nature touched everyone who knew her. Bertha’s love for her family was the center of her world, and her memory will live on in the hearts of those she held dear.
Bertha is survived by her children, Henry Ray Jenkins (Sheila), Debra Jenkins Inskeep, and Eddie Roy Jenkins (Shelley); grandchildren, Chad Jenkins (Jamie), Tennie Burak (Eddie), Bryan Jenkins (Brie), Jason Inskeep, Julie Steele (Kemper), Austin Jenkins (Tiffany), and Savannah Jenkins (Kaley); great grandchildren, Kyle Jenkins, Michela Jenkins, Conner Jenkins, Ethan Jenkins, Sarah Jenkins, Anna Jenkins, Tyler Burak, Katelyn Gilbert (Levi), Madison Inskeep, Audrey Inskeep, Cameron Steele, and Caroline Steele; great-great-grandchildren, Gracelynn Jenkins and Delilah Burak; her brothers, Wilson Dodson and Ray Dodson, Sr.; and a host of additional family and friends. .
In addition to her parents, Bertha is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Edward Jenkins; her brothers, Roosevelt Dodson, Richard Dodson, and William Dodson; and her sisters, Rena Ferguson and Rebecca Dodson.
The family will receive friends on Monday, April 13, 2026, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel with officiating
Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
Pallbearers serving the family will be Chad Jenkins, Bryan Jenkins, Austin Jenkins, Kyle Jenkins, Kemper Steele, and Ray Dodson, Jr.
Honorary Pallbearers serving the family will be Jason Inskeep, Eddie Burak, Tyler Jenkins, and Conner Jenkins.
