Bernice Parks Huntley's Obituary
Bernice “Bee” Parks Huntley, 91, of Culpeper went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 25, 2015 while residing at the Baptist Retirement Community.
Bee was born on June 22, 1924 in Allentown, Pennsylvania to the late Harry B. Parks and the late Mabel L. Steckel Parks.
She graduated from Allentown High School class of 1942 with secretarial skills that eventually led her to be a school secretary at Bear Street School in Costa Mesa, CA. After retirement, Bee and her husband moved to Culpeper, VA. She became active in the Bethel Baptist Church in Reva, VA serving as the ladies Sunday school teacher for 14 years. She was also active in the local AARP chapter serving as chaplain for several terms. Bee enjoyed letter writing, working on photo albums, baking and traveling.
Bee is survived by her two daughters; Lynn Stuart of Culpeper and Lucinda Lee Huntley of Port Townsend, WA., one grandson, Jason William Stuart and his wife Jessie and their two children; Jackson William Stuart and Royalann Stuart all of Eugene, OR.
Her siblings, Lucille Salomon of Allentown, PA, Louise Benda of Hedgesville, WV, Robert Parks of Slatington, PA and Donald Parks of Allentown, PA.
In addition to her parents Bee is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years William Huntley; and six of her brothers; Frank, Harry, Warren, Stanley, William and Edwin Parks.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2015 at 12:00PM at Found and Sons Funeral Chapels and Cremation Services of Culpeper, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, with the Pastor Adam Meisberger and Mrs. Joan Proctor.
The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service.
Interment will follow at the Culpeper National Cemetery (Old).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in the form of a donation to Hospice of the Piedmont, 675 Peter Jefferson Pkwy, Suite 300, Charlottesville, VA 22911.
