Bernard Smith
Bernard Bernie Smith, 70, of Spotsylvania County passed away Thursday, January 3, 2008 at Mary Washington Hospital. Also known to his older friends and family as Bunny, he was preceded in death by his parents, Victor Red Smith and Clare Kitty Moxley.
Born in Uniontown, PA, Bernie was best known for his TV and Electronics repair service throughout the Spotsylvania, Fredericksburg, Caroline, and Stafford and Arlington areas. He was a member of The Arlington County Police Department Auxillary and he had also worked several years as a printer for the OAS in Washington, DC. He was a past member of The Spotsylvania Volunteer Fire Department Company One and was a current member of the Isaac Walton League.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Lois Crago Smith; daughters, Cyndee Duncan of Fredericksburg and Bernadette Chip Rumsey and her husband David of Spotsylvania. PapPap is also survived by his grandchildren; Heather Curtis, Kaleb Thomas, Madison Grymes, and Cheyenne Lindsey; his two brothers, Daniel Smith of Uniontown, PA and Charles Smith of Burke, VA; his four sisters, Patricia Capetta of Pittsburgh, PA, Charlotte Caron of Swan Point, MD, Clare Kieffer of Clifton, VA, and Vicki Clark of Mechanicsville, MD.
He is also survived by his close friends; Charlie and Betty Duffy, Lisa and Brian Pearson, Frank Yarboro, Bill Caton, Carl Lundmark, Oscar Mairena, and Bill and Dawn Thomas.
