Benny Lockett
Winter B. “Benny” Lockett, 75, of Fredericksburg passed away Monday, February 4, 2008 at Golden Living.
Benny was born and raised in Dumfries, VA. He served his country in the United States navy and was a manager for an A.B.C. store in Woodbridge for 25 years.
He enjoyed all sports and at one time excelled at them all. He was voted Best Athlete of Occaquan District High School, class of 1951.
He leaves behind his wife of 30 years, Patricia B. Lockett and his little dog, Pippi. Additional survivors include his sons, Daniel S. Lockett and Steven M. Lockett and his wife, Jessie all of Stafford County; his daughter, Susan Lockett of Winchester; the mother of his children, Betty Mullen; his stepdaughters, Diane Young of Unionville and Linda Purtell and her husband, Michael all of Spotsylvania County; eleven grandchildren, William, Leigh Ann, Brianna, Darren, Callie, Diego, Joseph, Patricia, Winter, Kevin and Brian; his sisters, Ethel Lescure of Woodbridge and Mildred Higgs of Fredericksburg; his brothers, Olney Lockett of New Mexico and Morty Lockett of Maine.
Benny also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and good friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ethel and Bernard Lockett; a stepson, Steven Semerjian, four sisters, Ruby Lockett, Bernice Howard, Eula Montgomery, Beatrice Becker and a brother, Warren Lockett.
