Bennie Kelly Minor's Obituary
Bennie Kelly Minor Jr., of Stevensburg, Virginia, passed away peacefully on September 30, 2025, at Culpeper Memorial Hospital. He was 67 years old.
Born on November 23, 1957, Bennie was the beloved son of the late Benny Kelly Minor Sr. and Thelma Minor. Raised in Stevensburg, he attended Culpeper County Schools and grew to be a cherished member of the community.
Known for his warm heart, quick wit, and unwavering dedication to family, Bennie treasured spending time with his loved ones. Fishing was one of his greatest joys, offering him peace and happiness. A jack of all trades and a master of some, he was always ready to lend a helping hand, fix what was broken, or bring a smile to someone's face.
Bennie is survived by his five children: Terry Cottoms, Bennie Cottoms (Nikki), Bradley Lewis, Kelly Lewis, and Desmond Lewis; 14 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind two stepchildren, Brandon Campbell, and Quaneshia Anderson, and two step- grandchildren; his brothers, Ricky Minor, David Minor, and Curtis Minor (Karen); stepsister, Wendy Allen; aunt, Josephine Minor and uncle, David Minor, Sr. Bennie shared a loving partnership with his significant other, Thelvonna Hall. He is remembered fondly by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Denise Ann Minor; his sisters, Jennifer Marie
Minor and Brenda Lee Minor; and his brother, John Randolph Minor.
A lifelong resident of Stevensburg, Bennie was a familiar and friendly face whose kindness, quiet strength, and sense of humor touched many lives and will be deeply missed.
A graveside service to celebrate Bennie’s life will be held on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at 1pm at Fairview Cemetery, followed by a repass at the Meadows Clubhouse.
Though he has departed this life, Bennie’s legacy of love, laughter, and quiet strength will remain forever in the hearts of those who were blessed to know him.
