Beatrice Hamilton's Obituary
Beatrice McClary Hamilton was born April 20, 1935 in Greeleyville, SC to the late Henry and Mary McFadden-McClary. She was called to rest on December 6, 2016 after having a stroke.
She was educated in the Kingstree public school system in South Carolina and later obtained her nursing degree in Virginia. She held a variety of jobs to support her family.
Beatrice was known to her family and friends as “Bea”. She was active with the Jehovah’s Witnesses in her community and known to all who knew her as a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend who loved animals and always had room in her home for an animal in need.
She was a loving wife to her husband, Demar Drexel Hamilton, Sr. for 46 years until his passing on November 11, 2007. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Mary McClary; five brothers, Louis, Herbert, James, Ernest Neil, and Vernon McClary; and two sisters, Dessie Woods and Thelma Gadson.
She leaves to cherish her memory her three daughters, Darlene McClary, Zoe Antwi, and Berneta Ellis; two sons, Demar Hamilton, Jr., and Robert Hamilton; six grandchildren, Derrick McClary, Jamel, Jarrell and Jarrae Antwi, Chantel Hamilton and Isaiah Ellis; one great-grandson, Christian Garner; two brothers, Henry McClary, Jr. (Lillie) and George McClary; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of other family members and close friends.
Beatrice’s family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m.
